Vehicle crash kills seven in southwest China

NANNING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from Monday's road crash involving a bus and a truck in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has risen to seven, a local government official said.

The accident also left 23 people injured, including seven seriously, said an official from the government of Du'an County, in Hechi City, where the accident occurred.

A 49-seat bus that was carrying 30 people collided with a truck at about 3 a.m. Monday on a highway.

Five people on the bus, one on the truck and a passerby were killed.

All the injured were taken to hospital.
